Within “the village” you will easily see why we have been bestowed with the honor of Tree City USA award every year since 2002 due to it’s ancient oak tree-lined avenues. There is no better example of these graceful live oaks draped with Spanish moss than the Deerhead Oak located on the corner of Pinckney Street and Oak Street. Estimated to be more than 1000 years old, this tree may out-date the famous Angle Oak in Charleston.
