The Village Retreat

Waterfront Home in the Heart of the Historic District

4 Bedroom, 3.5 Bath, Accommodates 5-8 People

Often called a “little slice of heaven”, McClellanville is a quaint fishing village that is less than an hour from Charleston and Myrtle Beach, but worlds from both. You will truly feel like you’ve stepped back into time as you drive down the oak-lined avenues and past the historic homes in this coastal retreat. Bounded by the Francis Marion Forest and Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge, this area is free of development, pollution, and traffic. Great seafood restaurants, boutique shops, artist galleries and southern charm will bring you back year after year once you’ve discovered this well-kept Secret of the South!

This lovely waterfront home was newly constructed in 2007 in the heart of the Historic District, walking distance to the downtown businesses and seafood restaurant. It is less than a mile to the Town Boat Landing where you can access a world-class fishing sanctuary and also features a dock with room for your boat. The inside of this immaculate home features Australian Cypress hardwood floors, high ceilings, granite counter tops, stainless appliances, Keurig coffee maker, gas fireplace, gas BBQ, and screened porch and sun deck to view Jeremy Creek.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you’ll need to prepare a meal and you’re in walking distance to seafood markets if you want to pick up some fresh shrimp or shellfish. There is Free WiFi and Satellite HDTV. The Master Bedroom located on first floor (raised elevation) has a Queen-sized bed and luxurious bathroom. Three more bedrooms are found upstairs with a queen and two double beds.

Note: This home has a shared dock.  While access is not limited, we respectfully ask guests to treat neighbors courteously and allow equal use.  We also must strictly enforce a 2 boat maximum for guests to ensure that everyone has room.

Southern Charm
We all absolutely loved this house. It was well stocked, very clean, charming and met our needs perfectly, especially the early morning trout fishing off the back dock. We will absolutely be back annually as we have family in the area and this is the perfect place to stay. I highly recommend it if you are coming to the area. And a must is the crab dip sold down the street - best we have ever had and we are from seafood capitols.

Quiet
We really enjoyed our stay, the house was clean and spacious. The view was excellent, as well as the town. Two boats fit nicely on the dock, had no trouble getting off the dock, even at dead low. Beds could be a little bigger, but overall a fantastic stay. Highly recommend!

Clean, modern home in quiet coastal town
We loved our stay at Village Retreat in sleepy McClellanville. The house was modern and up-to-date with high ceilings and an open plan on the first floor. Great porch looking out at the dock. Friendly neighbors. We brought kayaks and put in right off the dock. We visited nearby Bulls Island. You need to search out activities, but if you are looking for a quiet place to vacation, this is a great option.
