Awendaw Creek is considered by many to be the northern boundary of Awendaw.  Doar Road, Awendaw Landing Road, Thames Road, Durgin Place, and Lady’s Secret Lane all have frontage on Awendaw Creek.  Awendaw Creek is no more than 40 to 50 feet wide for most of it’s winding run, however it is a nice deep channel which cuts through a broad marshy escape.  Homes along Awendaw Creek enjoy scenic marsh views and many have very short docks.  Awendaw Creek empties into the ICW near Buck Hall boat landing offering great access to fishing and boating within the Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge.
